PROJECTS
Design
During my 7 years of work experience I have done master planning design for large parks, and regional linear greenways. Most of these deal with creating accessible trails with ecological water management solutions. This requires a deep understanding of grading and slope requirements, horticulture, and local floodway and floodplain regulation.
Planning
With 4 years of experience working for a national planning firm, Alta Planning & Design, I have done many regional bike and pedestrian plans, as well as many regional greenway plans. Returning to school I have focused on ecological planning, specifically energy production and storage planning, and have found ways to combine this with my transportation experience.
Built Work
During my 3 years working for the Forest Preserve District of Dupage County I designed and oversaw the construction of trails, stormwater infrastructure, and wetland mitigation projects.
Events
While attending graduate school I have aided professors in putting on events that aim to educate students, faculty, and other professions about the role of design in offering sustainable solutions to the current climate crisis. I helped put together the Urban Resilience Certificate Launch Event on January 2019 with professor Mattheus Bouw. I was a part of the Fall 2019 Designing a Green New Deal student exhibit and will be helping to put together the 2020 Earth Day Event at Penn. See also the ASLA extreme Design Challenge Winning Design, “Life Orchard.”
Written Work
While attending graduate school I have decided to focus on Urban Resilience and the Green New Deal. Because of this I have written reports about the future of design in infrastructure, design’s possibilities in the Green New Deal, and design’s role in guiding policy and governance.
Social Media
Social media is a way to engage with the public about what landscape architecture is and what we do. I have linked my twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to this page for easy access to my social media content.
