The Cenacle Connector trail starts at the cenacle loop trail, and crosses an existing concrete bridge over Spring Brook, the new trail allows for scenic glimpses of the stream’s wetland habitat and allows nearby residents a safe and handicap accessible route to Blackwell Forest Preserve. A retaining wall was also built to preserve a large oak tree for shade and landscape interest. Fall tree planting and native seeding is planned for October, 2014 in order to further revitalize the site’s native wetland habitat. Wetland mitigation was done on site to compensate for the fill in the floodplain which was needed to construct the trail.
